Solve for x: −4|x + 5| = −16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are there actually lines around the x+5? Or parenthesis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lines

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just divide -4 on both sides to get positive four and then subtract 5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then idk...it should be -1 but idk about the lines. I don't think it should matter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = 21 over 4, x = −11 over 4 x = −1, x = 9 x = −1, x = −9 No solution possible answers ^
