What happened to all the older mods?




at some point a whole bunch of mods just whent inactive/off the radar why is that?

another good example is that guy who used to be the lead developer... what happened to him... he still awnsers quastions.... but hasnt done naything like that for like over a year... =/ and hes still a mod =P

im still compiling the list so its 60% likely that this list isnt 100% perecent accurate. infact theres probobly 2-3 people that are active on here, i will check em over comple the list more, and find out =P

They probably left OpenStudy because they were tired of closing questions and deleting spam posts.

asnaseer has been on recently... lets see, Callisto, karatechopper (we chatted last night,) KingGeorge, saifoo.khan, and shadowfiend too.

Some take time off for things like working on their PhD. Others were admins that moved on when OS split off of being a development project and into a business. As most have not shown reason to not be a mod, or not asked to be de-modded, they are left with the mod status in case they come back.

Oh, and if you want really old mods, try heisenberg. Even KonradZuse has been on this year, but heisenberg has not been seen in over 2 years.

As we move on in life, we come to realize that not everything remains constant. We all haven't forgotten our responsibilities, but we do have other things to tend to. :) You just need to catch us at the right time!:)

Still shows as a mod for me. Probably just a delay in SS load for you. As for why, well, he graduated. This started at Georgia Tech and many students were involved.

It only shows in posts and the question list. It does not show on the hover pop up or the profile page. Have you gone to a post Matt made?

Mods do a lot of intense work for the love of OpenStudy and the community. So after sometime some of them move on. We find new awesome people. We are really appreciative of the time they have given us and wish them the best.

Groups mods don't really exist any more, but they were a way to try and regulate the special groups, like a group mod for a subject made for a specific class.
