First you must distribute the left side of the equation. What will you have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to distribute it to the 2x and -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x this where I don't understand how it's done

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would a visual picture help you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so 6x and 5x yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You multiply each value in the parenthesis..IE distribute the 3 to(2x-3)..Thus you would multiply 3 times 2x and 3 times -3.

I'll show the steps but I wont answer it you'll have to answer it for yourself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you get 3x and 5x =15x ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would not distribute nothing \[ 3(2x-3)<15 \] divide by 3 and start with \[2x-3<5\]
