what classic books should everyone read and why
#1: to kill a mockingbird, because it is well written and addresses a lot of social issues... but mostly because it's a great, entertaining, and insightful read! and just to list a few: -HARRY POTTER SERIES!! (JK ROWLING) because harry potter is the best! hehe :) magic, growing up, book series, and did i mention magic??!! :D -Sense and Sensibility (Jane Austen) language is odd, but i loved the plot :) -Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen) same as the above! I like Jane Austen's writing!! :D -Frankenstein (Mary Shelley) woooo mysterious! and because everything we know about Frankenstein today is based from this original. I think it's so interesting to read about where the concept of Frankenstein came from!! -Of Mice and Men (John Steinbeck) just WOW. So powerful and moving and it might not seem like it at first, but this is a story of love and friendship, and I just loved it. -Gone with the Wind (Margaret Mitchell) so long, but so worth it is all i can say!! air of elegance and old timey feel!! -Anne of Green Gables (LM Montgomery) (and the rest of the series!) Anne is a totally lovable character and after you read one, you can't help but pick up another... and another... and another... and well, you see what i mean.. that's a good thing and anne is awesome!! -Charlotte's Web (EB White) childhood story with morals and lessons, love it!! AND SO MANY MORE!! :) not sure if they're all considered classics, but I love these books a lot and you should give some of them a gander! but when I think of my favorite *classic* classic (if that makes sense) I always think of To Kill a Mockingbird--it's my absolute favorite!! ..... so far hehe :)
thanks!
