How can you tell if y=160(0.85)^x is exponential decay or growth or neither?

OpenStudy (zubhanwc3):

first off, if the number is -1<x>1 then we know that as the number squares, cubes, etc, it begins to decrease for instance, (1/2)^2 is .5 * .5 = .25 (1/2)^3 is .125 so in the case for (0.85)^x, as x increases, the number will decrease, or decay, because multiplying a decimal by a decimal will make the number smaller and smaller, if u don't understand, just ask

Ohh I get it thankyou
