I need help really fast please!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

what's the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The figure shows 2 congruent triangular parks. What equation would help solve the side length of BC & EF?

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

I'm confused with this... maybe @e.mccormick can help you. or @iGreen because e.mccormick is not on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I don't know how to figure out how to make an equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So far I have 3x-15=x-1. Then 2x=14. Then x=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3(7)-15=7 (7)-1=6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6*

OpenStudy (igreen):

Just solve 3x - 15 = x - 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would I be correct?

OpenStudy (igreen):

3x - 15 = x - 1 Add 15 to both sides: 3x = x + 14 Subtract 'x' to both sides: 2x = 14 Divide 2 to both sides: x = 7 Yep, you're correct! So the lengths of both the sides are 7.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (igreen):

No problem! You got it on your own!
