20 party goes at a beach party decide to play volleyball, in how many ways can 5 player team be made of 4 teams.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did 20C5=15504 but not sure if i am suppose to multiply by 4 or not

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Is the question "How many different ways can you make 4 five player teams"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No actually it says in how many ways can 5 player team be made, and then just lists the teams names

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 team names

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

basically 4 teams of 5 players each

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

As you probably know, the combination formula is n! / (r! * (n-r)!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

So I guess n is 20 and r is 5 but we might need a different formula - I will check.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its going to be 20C5 which is 15504 ways of choosing 5 players for 1 team, so we would have to multiply it by 4

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Well okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make sense right?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I think - I'd have to do some more searching to make absolutely sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
