when a shape gets larger , which increases at a faster rate, surface area or volume ?r

OpenStudy (queelius):

It depends on the shape, and in which way the shape is becoming larger. Once you have the shape, you can compute the differential (of its volume or surface area) with respect to some change, e.g., if a sphere, compute dV/dr (change in volume with respect to change in radius).
