What form of energy does active transport use?

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

If the process uses chemical energy, such as from adenosine triphosphate (ATP), it is termed primary active transport

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

To give you an example, active transport is used in gated channels, where they have to open up and ions move against their gradient (Sodium/Potassium pump).
