That's false. Counter example sqrt(3) and sqrt(12) are both irrational; however, sqrt(3)*sqrt(12) = sqrt(3*12) sqrt(3)*sqrt(12) = sqrt(36) sqrt(3)*sqrt(12) = 6 which is rational
