jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

x^2 - 7x = -13 x^2 - 7x + 13 = 0 now use the quadratic formula with these values a = 1 b = -7 c = 13

@jim_thompson5910 i just dont understand this quadratic equation stuff at all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 i think i may have figured it out! is it the last option?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

\[\Large x = \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}\] \[\Large x = \frac{-(-7) \pm \sqrt{(-7)^2 - 4(1)(13)}}{2(1)}\] \[\Large x = \frac{7 \pm \sqrt{-3}}{2}\] yes it leads to the last answer choice
