Some islands in the Caribbean do not have any fresh water. This has limited growth on these islands. Building a desalinization plant could provide jobs for the local people. This can make the economy on these islands more stable.

Some areas by the coast are very remote and far from fresh water supplies. These areas are great places to build vacation resorts. These resorts use desalinization plants to provide their guests with fresh water. Desalinization plants will allow for more resorts to be built in remote areas along the coast.
