"Why I Wrote The Yellow Wallpaper" is a short article written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman explaining her reasoning behind writing her short story, The Yellow Wallpaper. Is her article a primary or secondary source? Why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

primary sources are first hand accounts

OpenStudy (anonymous):

charlotte perkins was the author of the yellow wall paper

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so whats your educated guess?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

secondary is when its written by someone else

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well if its the author who wrote the article then its primary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it was just an other dude then its secondary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The article was written by the same author who wrote the book

OpenStudy (anonymous):

/poem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

understanding it better?

OpenStudy (conqueror):

What @Frazfootballa is saying is, whoever wrote that paragraph and didn't write the book, it's secondary. And if whoever wrote that paragraph and wrote the book, it's primary. Correct me if I'm wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are correct sir @Conqueror

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@bryson15 ???

OpenStudy (conqueror):

@bryson15 Is it someone else talking about Charlotte Perkins Gilman or is it Charlotte Perkins Gilman that's talking about herself?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):
