EAsy help?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Match the following descriptions of the solutions to each of the functions above. Hint: they each have their own match. o Two real irrationals solutions o Two real rationals solutions

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Please correct my solutions if they are wrong: g(x) = x2 +6x + 1 = -8 and 2 f(x) = x2 + 6x – 16 = -8 and 2

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

Let me tell you what are the roots i got: f(x) = x2 + 6x – 16 For this I got -8 and 2. Both are Rational. g(x) = x2 +6x + 1 = -8 For this I got (-3 + 2 sqrt 2) and (-3 - 2 sqrt 2). Both are Irrational

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

How did you get that for g(x) If its not too much to ask ;-;

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

:) i'll explain

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

You have to use Quadratic Formula... which is shown below:|dw:1414599955558:dw|
