Hemophilia is a sex–linked disorder that is caused by a defective gene on the X chromosome. What will be the pattern of inheritance of the offspring of a hemophiliac father? The father passes the gene to all his sons but to none of his daughters. The father passes the gene to all his daughters but to none of his sons. The father passes the gene to all his daughters and all his sons.

@ganeshie8 PLEASE HELP ME!

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

see the father is hemophilic...so his genotype is xY. x is hemophilic allele. the sons of this father would receive only y chromosome. so non of them would be affected. his daughters would get only the x chromosome which is hemophilic in this case. now can u choose the option?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All of his daughters will be, and his sons will not? @shrutipande9

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

absolutely correct..:D u understood the reason y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):
