SOME one HELP me PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
Jared has a wooden board that is 11 ft long. He wants to cut it into two pieces so that the longer piece is 4 ft less than 4 times the length of the shorter piece. How long will each piece of board be? Shorter piece: ft Longer piece: ft
longer feet= 4 x shorter piece - 4 total length of board = longer feet + shorter feet .. let x be the shorter piece so shorter piece =x longer piece= 4x -4 total length of board = 4x -4 + x 11=4x -4 +x solve for x ->shorter piece and substitute x in the equation for longer piece which is 4x-4
O_O
lol which part you did not understand?
seriously sirously sirously lol sorry got that stuck in my head
all of it
oh >.> okay let's do it step by step what's the original length of the wood? if you cut it into two, the length of the wood pieces will be equal to the uncut wood right?
can i just get the answer im kinda in a rush
you have to learn.
well im not even working on thisa nymore so bye

alright . goodluck :)
shorter piece =x longer piece= 4x -4 11=4x - 4 +x 11 +4 = 5x 15 = 5x x = 3 4x - 4 = 8
