Religion is an important aspect to the lives of many people. In Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist, Christianity plays a critical role in the story. Facets of Christianity, such as the purpose, the sacrifices, and biblical allusions are present in the story through both the characters and the ideals of the story. Although Islam is important in The Alchemist, the implementation of Christianity is most important.
