Have you ever wondered why cooked onions taste different than raw onions? we can use scientific method to answer this question

Observation:

chop raw onion into pieces, eat it. onion tastes bitter.

Now throw chopped onion into frying pan, add some vegetable oil and cook under heat. After around 10 minutes onions turn brown. Onions taste sweet

What causes the onion to taste sweet after cooking it? One possibility is that onions contain sugar. Because the raw onion does not taste sweet, the sugar might be in the form of starch.
