Read the excerpt below and answer the question. Beyond the dusty brown yard, in front of the sorry gray house, rose suddenly and shockingly a dazzling strip of bright blossoms, clumped together in enormous mounds, warm and passionate and sun-gold. The excerpt describing Miss Lottie’s home is an example of what type of setting? place weather social condition time

OpenStudy (kingswank):

social condition

Read the excerpt below and answer the question. We children, of course, were only vaguely aware of the extent of our poverty. Having no radios, few newspapers, and no magazines, we were somewhat unaware of the world outside our community. What can the reader infer about the mood of the story based on the excerpt above? The children were enjoying a fun, carefree summer. The children didn’t realize just how poverty-stricken their families were. The children could not read because there were no newspapers or magazines. The children were upset because they didn’t have a radio to listen to popular music.
