It was when I was eight years old on a biting winter day. I was in a daycare where my mom worked. The people watching a group of eight to fithteen year olds they took all of us outside. There was an old table, a playground, a kickball field and a place to relax. No one wanted to play so we all sat around in our big winter coats. I was sitting on a weak plasic chair just freezing. So since my legs and arms were still cold. I thought to put them in my coat in the chair. First I start with my legs. Then my arms once I got all nice and warm. The chair started shaking. I tried to get my arms out so that way I will be able to catch myself if I was going to fall. But I was to late I fell and busted up my lip on smooth cold concrete. I went to my mom and than we went to the hospital. I had to get two layers of stitchs. That when I learned not to put all of my body in a coat on a chair.

this is what i have so far it is about a life lesson I've learned

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm, maybe you can generalize the lesson that you learnt a bit, maybe like "I learned not to restrict my hands and legs" or something like that. How long does the essay have to be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5 paragraphs and im not a very good writer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, also what grade are you in? (It kind of affects the minimum length of the paragraphs) You could try to add more detail, what caused the chair to shake? What was your mother's reaction? stuff like that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9th and ok

If you are in ninth grade you are presumably expected to write much longer paragraphs and sentences, make sure your sentences have subjects and verbs if you don't think you can add much more to the story. Remember, more writing isn't always better, but a complete sentence with subjects and verbs is! (This is basic sentence building, if you already know of subjects and verbs you should be good) http://grammar.about.com/od/basicsentencegrammar/a/sentenceunit.htm
