OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Am I right?

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

The function f(x) is shown below: f(x) = (5)^x - 1 The function f(x) is shifted to the right by 13 units. Which of the following best represents the new function? f(x) = (5)^x + 13 f(x) = (5)^x + 12 f(x) = (5)^x - 14 f(x) = (5)^x - 13

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

I think its D. :)

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

@iGreen @ganeshie8 @phi

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

take this as a example if a function f(x) is shifted B units to the right then the new function will be f(x-B)

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

So it has to be inside of the f(x)? None of them do that, and I chose D because when it shifts to the right its negative.

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

yes then it will be \[f_s(x)=5^{(x-13)-1}=5^{x-14}\]

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

So C?

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

yeah

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

yw!!
