Select the correct text in the passage.Which sentence shows that Tim is resourceful in a time of need? Bright Idea by Alisa Scerrato Tim, Billy, and Greg met at Tim's house on a rainy afternoon. Their group project was due the next day, and they had to finalize their presentation. As dinnertime approached, Tim's mother insisted on making some food, since the boys were going to be there late. Rain had been falling all day, but at dusk, rain started to come down with a vengeance. The lights began to flicker. "I hope the power doesn't go out," said Tim. "Last time it rained, we lost power for two days." After Tim's mother served them sandwiches, they sat in a circle and snacked while adding images to their presentation. Suddenly, the lights went out. "I knew it," said Tim. "And it's going to get dark out soon." Tim's mother walked into the room and said, "I'll try to get some candles, boys. It's too dark in here. I don't want you straining your eyes." "Don't worry, we'll figure something out," said Tim, scratching his chin. Greg and Billy put down their pens and peered out the window. It was certainly getting dark. Then Tim said, "I have an idea!" "Well, what else are you going to do?" asked Tim's mom. "I know that candles don't create the brightest light. Let me look around the house for some flashlights. Those will be a little brighter." Just a few minutes later, Tim's mother walked back into the room, and Billy, Greg, and Tim were sitting in the same circle they had been in before. To shed light onto their notebooks, the boys had used textbooks to prop up three cell phones. "Wow, it's really bright in here!" said Tim's mother. "For a few hours, it will be," said Tim. "Save the candles and the batteries for the flashlights. We can always recharge our phones in the car." "The car?" Tim's mother asked. "Yes, all we have to do is drive around and charge the phone with the car charger." "Smart thinking!" she said. "But your dad and I will need to come with you, of course. I love you, but you can't operate the car without our permission." "Safety first," said Tim. "I love you too!"
