OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Use the quadratic formula.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would I just plug in the values for x in my equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x^2 + 3x + 6 = 0 -> x^2 + 1.5x + 3 = 0 -> x^2 + 1.5x = -3 -> x^2 + 1.5x + 2.25 = -3 + 2.25 Thus no real solutions.

just a prove, using completing the square, without even completing anything.
