HEy guys just wondering. What would be the basic theory to reverse gravity? Explain needed so basically using gravity to push things up? How would you reverse the energy. Any background knowledge?

OpenStudy (surry99):

not possible based on my understanding of the laws of physics

Assuming that it is possible to 'reverse' the 'energy' betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of what gravity actually is. According to Einstein, gravity is actually a warping of space. Imagine a heavy marble on a plane of elastic fabric. It warps the fabric, meaning that if you were to place a much smaller marble on this plane, it would slowly roll towards the dip in the fabric caused by the heavy marble. This is what large celestial bodies do to space. In fact, without some central celestial body, planets, for example, would merely travel in a straight line. But because stars are massive celestial bodies and warp space so much, this straight line actually becomes an elliptical orbit, in a similar way that a small marble 'rolls' towards the larger one on an elastic fabric plane. Thus: 1. You cannot 'reverse' the 'energy' because gravity is not energy - it is a warping of the space-time continuum. 2. Gravity doesn't really 'push' or even 'pull.' The warping of space caused by massive bodies warps space such that smaller bodies are attracted to the (centre of) the larger one. Hence, no, you cannot reverse gravity. You can overcome it, but you cannot reverse it. There's nothing to reverse. If you want to learn more about gravity, and basic physics in general, I suggest you go through MIT's 'Physics I: Classical Mechanics' OCW Scholar course, which has all the resources you need to self-learn some physics.
