Are Clothing advertisements aimed at teenagers effective? And, are they ethical?

I would say they are effective yes. They show beautiful, thin girls and guys surrounded by friends, having a good time laughing and messing around. I don't think they are ethical though, because they suggest that having their brand of clothing will make you happy, and make friends, which is not true (or at least it will not get you the right kind of friends). They can promote poor self-images in teens who do not feel the are pretty enough or thin enough.
