What was the GENERAL "Pattern of Conflict" between Native Americans and the United States government throughout the 1800s? 1. A group of the Nez Perce Indians was forced into signing a treaty that restricted their land. 2. Many Nez Perce tribes did not participate in signing the 1863 treaty or agree to it. 3. Several groups of warriors attacked white settlers in retaliation of past wrongs and General Howard’s “30 day” relocation policy. 4. U.S. armies defeated the Nez Perce and sent them to live in poor conditions in Kansas for nearly 8 years.
