Will fan&medal What is the value of x? 6(-3-x)-2x=14 x=_______
@mathmath333
Could you help please?
-18 -6x - 2x = 14 -18-8x = 14 -18-14 = 8x -32= 8x Now solve for x.
First we need to distribute the 6 into the parenthesis \[\large 6(-3 - x) - 2x = 14\] Multiply 6 by -3...and then 6 by -x \[\large -18 - 6x - 2x = 14\] can you take it from there?
-32/8??
@surry99 x=-4??
yes...excellent!
Alright, thanks. I might need help with a few more.
no problem at all.
Alright.
What is the value of x? x+5=-6x-16 would i take 5 out of the 5&16? Or..?
@surry99
you have to get the x's to one side of the equation..
this is what i got.
Very nice @Angry :)
So, x=-3??
yes (:
Thank you.
@Angry @surry99 It has fractions /.\ I dont know lmfao.
@mathmath333 Could you help please?? I have no clue how to work that out because of the fractions..
Well, if you multiply every number by 5... \[\large 5(12 - \frac{3}{5}x - \frac{1}{5}x = -16)\] What will happen is \[\large 60 - (\cancel{5} \times \frac{3}{\cancel{5}}x) - (\cancel{5}\times \frac{1}{\cancel{5}}x) = -80\] The 5's cancel...so now we just have \[\large 60 - 3x - 1x = -80\]
so.. i have no clue haha. ummm.. 60 out of the other numbers?
So next...you want every number with an 'x' on 1 side of that '=' sign...and all the other numbers on the other side... so we can subtract 60 from both sides of this equation |dw:1414784672122:dw| And then combine the -3x and -1x |dw:1414784747316:dw| And divide both sides by 4 to solve for 'x |dw:1414784772360:dw|
Thank you!!
Anytime, hope it helped :)
