I got 5.5 hot dogs per min.
49-38= 11 that's 11 hot dogs per 2 mins so divide the 11 by 2 and get 5.5

Sorry i  might sound stupid because I'm tired but why did you subtract 49-38 ?

because thats the number of hot dogs and each time 2 mins goes by the number of hot dogs goes down, the difference between 49 and 38 is the amount he ate in 2 mins.
