OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm not sure if guys are gonna help me now but i need somebody to help me with these problems... Dongwuyuan you shemme dongwu ? I'm guessing "Whats your favorite animal ?" or "Do you have any pets ?"

OpenStudy (aishanuwang):

Dòngwùyuán yǒu shé me dòngwù? (动物园有什么动物?) "The zoo has what animals?" or "What animals does the zoo have?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ifthey ask me that question I could just say monkey in chinese ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*If they

OpenStudy (aishanuwang):

So you want to answer "The zoo has monkeys"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually how do you say I have one uncle.

OpenStudy (aishanuwang):

Well, first let me just tell you that to say "The zoo has monkeys" you would say "动物园有猴子" (dòngwùyuán yǒu hóuzi). Now, to say "I have one uncle"--this depends. Is this uncle paternal (on your father's side) or maternal (on your mother's side)? And is he a younger or older brother? Because in Chinese they are very specific when it comes to family names.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know "Wo .... shushu" I something uncle. Can you tell me what i have to say in that something part ?

OpenStudy (aishanuwang):

Ah okay. "我有一个叔叔" ("Wǒ yǒu yīgè shūshu") In this case, "叔叔" ("shūshu") means your father's younger brother. :)
