In regards to how the Jehovah Witnesses responded to allegations of sex abuse: “These guys will deny and deny, they are belligerent, they are arrogant, they treat victims as adversaries. This is not an organization that is ready to accept the reality of what they have been doing.”

Denial is a self-defense mechanism especially self denial, it happens to be one of humanities faults. In trying to keep secrets one finds they really can't be honest with anyone for fear of revealing their secrets. The most well known cover-ups are President Nixon and Clinton, there are many more known and unknown. Individuals first must be willing to look at their own life and be willing to reveal anything for the benefit of another no matter how you may feel about your apparent reputation. They say confession is good for the soul, especially when it can help others in similar situations you found yourself in the past. Christ said "don't belong to a secret organization" which means you should be willing to reveal past things to help others regardless of affiliation.
Wow...I honestly cannot believe that people think ALL of our elders would do this to the young people of the congregation. There are MANY witnesses who do not act as true Christians maybe this happened..maybe it didn't. But DO NOT label us all for one brothers actions.
I do not believe it. My parents went to our Kingdom Halls around that time they were NOT abused mentally, physically, or sexually. Why would they still be in the this organization if they were...
Me nor any of my friends have suffered through abuse
@xo.minnie.xox the link does not argue all the elders would do such a thing, however it does show many JWs do voluntarily cover it up.
this has turned into one of dale gribbles theories
Wow first the Catholics now this when will the religious stop.
All existing religions have been polluted by the world, as one religion accepts tenets of another. In the Torah, Pentateuch, Five Books of Moses you have a commandment not to mix threats in your garment, as linen and wool, but its mainly is concerned with ones religious beliefs and understanding not to mix it with others. To see a somewhat culmination of this read Isaiah chapter 63.
