Torque and moment of Inertia

OpenStudy (zephyr141):

A stone is suspended from the free end of a wire that is wrapped around the outer rim of a pulley. The pulley is a uniform disk with a mass of 11.1kg and radius of 53.0cm and turns on frictionless bearings. You measure that the stone travels a distance of 12.7m during a time interval of 3.00s starting from rest. Find the mass of the stone and the tension in the wire.

|dw:1414862796469:dw|\[\sum \tau:Tr=\frac{1}{2}MR^2*\alpha\]\[Tr=\frac{1}{2}MR^2+\frac{a}{r}\]\[T=\frac{1}{2}Ma\]\[-ma+mg=\frac{1}{2}Ma\]\[-m(a-g)=\frac{1}{2}Ma\]\[m=-\frac{1}{2}Ma\]\[m=-5.55a\]does this look right so far? i'm having trouble finding a here though.
