how to find y if given x of theta

OpenStudy (gorv):

can u give a example of the Q u r askin??

OpenStudy (gorv):

y=x(theta) ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its : Find the point on the terminal side of θ = -3pi/4 that has an x coordinate of -1.

OpenStudy (gorv):

u can use \[\tan \theta = y/x\]

OpenStudy (gorv):

y=x*tan theta

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so for this problem if we where to use tanθ= y/x we wold get 1 = y/-1 so y = -1

OpenStudy (gorv):

yeah right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so im right. right?
