I NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY COWS, HOW MANY CHICKENS, HOW MANY PIGS I CAN GET FOR MY $100.00
BUT REMEMBER, I MUST HAVE 100 FARM ANIMALS ALL TOTAL. I CANNOT HAVE 99. AND I CANNOT HAVE 101.

That does not tell me how many cows, chickens and pigs.  Are you saying the answer is creating an equation for it?

-x - y - z = -100
5x + y + 0.5z = 100
4x + 0.5z = 0

x+y+z= 100 
y = 100 - x - z

5x + (100 - x - z) + 0.5z = 100
4x - 0.5z = 0

4x + 0.5z = 0
4x - 0.5z = 0
8x = 0
x = 0
