solve -x^2=4x by graphing

OpenStudy (gorv):

it is a qudratic equation

OpenStudy (gorv):

taking x^2 on other side

OpenStudy (gorv):

x^2+4x=0 can u do it now??

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

you need to graph 2 curves \[y = 4x ~~~ and~~~~ y = -x^2\] and find the points of intersection... you can use a table of values perhaps x = -4 to x = 4 for the parabola... so you see the shape, and then pehaps x = 0, x = 1 and x = 2 for y = 4x. Hope it helps
