Suppose a low-pass filter passes up to the 12th harmonic of a 440 Hz sound of an instrument (a musical A pitch), but it blocks all higher harmonics. How many harmonics will it pass of the A pitch, two octaves higher?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

calculate the frequency of the 12th harmonic of a 440hz signal, that's the highest frequency that the filter can pass (the cut off frequency) then calculate the frequency of the note two octaves higher than 440hz finally work out some of the harmonics of the higher A and compare these with the cut off frequency for the filter
