Help with more Geometry please? Thanks! ^.^
In quadrilateral ABCD, the measure of angle A=x, the measure of angle B=2x, the measure of angle C=3x, and the measure of angle D= 4x. Find the value of x and then state which pair of sides of ABCD must be parallel.
well, you should know the sum of all the anlges in a quadrilateral add up to 360 so x+2x+3x+4x=360 solve for x now
x+2x+3x+4x quadrilateral interior angles add up to 360
So 10x=360 Divide 10x from both sides to get 36 Is that right?
yes
so x=36
But what sides are parallel?
How do I find out which sides are parallel?
The angles are 36, 72, 108 and 144 Put those values into quadrilateral ABCD
The last two are parallel?
Did you try drawing quadrilateral ABCD and putting the angles into it?
No, I don't know how to do that. .-.
|dw:1414987542769:dw| im thinking the shape looks something like this but im not sure
|dw:1414987574344:dw| Here is a start
Oh, so AC is parallel to BD?
The parallel sides would have angles that add up to 180 degrees.
parallel is having the same distance between|dw:1414987585688:dw|
So AB is parallel to CD?
yes

np :)
No I'll have to redraw that,
Awe, it's okay, you don't have to re-draw it. I visualized it. ^.^ But thanks again, you're awesome!! :3
It seems that no sides are parallel.
