First of, what is a quadratic function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the form is f(x)=ax2+bx+c. where a, b and c are numbers with a not equal to zero. So i think its no. am i right?

Well, if we are looking at a list of points on a graph of an unknown equation, and are trying to decide if it is a quadratic equation. We must know what a quadratic equation graph looks like. What does a quadratic equation graph look like?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1415001204346:dw| That is what a quadratic equation graph will look like

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i was trying to draw one my bad. okay so it goes up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now lets plot the points you have|dw:1415001268740:dw| What this graph is suppose to show you, is that the slope is gradually increasing and not staying constant. if you were to graph the other side, it would reflect what i drew
