How did the Agricultural Adjustment Act help the farmers?

To help meet the need for some kind of effective farm relief, Congress passed the Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA) in May 1933. As a means of bringing direct and effective help to farmers, the law sought to reduce production of the huge agricultural surpluses that depressed market prices.
