What does Higgins do to ruin Doolittle's life?

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Henry Higgins takes Eliza Doolittle off the streets. She would peddle her wares as a flower girl. He takes her under his wing and teaches her to speak English proficiently with an educated accent and teaches her to behave sophisticatedly. Soon, she begins to fall in love with him, but he remains unconcerned. He treats her like she is just another student. Once he is done teaching her, he is extremely terse with her and she gets very disappointed. She leaves his house and believes that he ruined her life because now, having experienced a life of sophistication, she can no longer go back to earning her livelihood as a flower girl.
