In what ways can dialogue be used more effectively than narrative to build the plot or the characters of a story?

answer fast please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It shows the reader the responses the characters have and how they react outspokenly. When two characters are having a discussion you use dialogue so it shows the reader more than one person is talking.

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Dialogue can make or break your short story or novel. No matter how good the plot or subject line, poorly-written dialogue can turn a reader off quicker than anything. Shows the readers response and how they will react also a narrative is written by a person and usually only told from one person point of view whereas dialogue will give you more than 1 person talking providing additonal evidence.
