Evaluate the expression when x = 3 and y = –5. 4x – 3y A. –3 B. –1 C. 27 D. 15

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

\[\large 4x - 3y\] when x = 3 we have 4 times x...becomes 4 times 3...so that is 12 and when y = -5 we have 3 times y becomes 3 times -5 so that is -15 so what we have is \[\large 12 - (-15)\] \[\large 12 + 15 = ?\]
