Are you looking for one answer? Remote and isolated mean the same thing. If you need one answer, they cancel each other out.

Constantinople was surrounded on 3 sides by water. Not very accessible to invading armies. It is located between the Black Sea and Mediterranean sea, between Europe and Asia. Travelers and traders going to and from those places would pass through. That would make diversity quite probable.

@TFIOS_GUS623 Sorry, but I just needed some assistance

@TFIOS_GUS623 YEHAA

@wwhitlock this one Which cultural impact was a direct outcome of the collapse of the Western Roman Empire? Large numbers of people gave up farming for the pursuit of war. Europe lost knowledge of the art and thought of ancient Rome and Greece. The settlement of Western European nations was delayed by hundreds of years. Pagans and others who did not believe in Christianity were persecuted.

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

The Western Roman Empire threw that part of the world into darkness as far as intellectual thought is concerned. The term "Dark Ages" is not wholly correct, but it does describe the loss of many artistic and academic achievements of Rome. We have the Islamic Empire to thank for translating many Greek and Roman works. They then became available to us in modern languages.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry. I had to go yesterday. Try reading my answer again: The Western Roman Empire threw that part of the world into darkness as far as intellectual THOUGHT is concerned. The term "Dark Ages" is not wholly correct, but it does describe the LOSS of many ARTISTIC and academic achievements of Rome. We have the Islamic Empire to thank for translating many GREEK and ROMAN works. They then became available to us in modern languages.
