Medal :) Male and female high school students reported how many hours they worked each week in summer jobs. The data is represented in the following box plots:
Identify any values of data that might affect the statistical measures of spread and center. The females worked more than the males, and the female Q3 equals the top of the range. The spread and center are skewed due to the fourth quartile missing with the females. There is a significant outlier at the low end for the females. The males have a high outlier, and the females have a low outlier.
I know the answer is not B because it was wrong when I chose it. I am guessing D, but I'm not 100% sure.
D is also wrong because the Males data looks more or less uniformly distributed and the tails are not that far away from the Quartiles. So NO OUTLIERS in Males data.
So it is C?
that leaves us with options A and C lets see each of them
for sure there is an outlier for females on the lower end
so C could be correct
we also need to convince ourselves why A has to be wrong
I think it might be wrong because the 4th quartile is gone.... Idk though..
yeah tick C and let me know if it says correct later if psble
Okay. :)
** yeah tick C and let me know know the correct answer later if psble
for me both A and C look correct :O
C was correct! :D
