After a prokaryotic cell replicates its genetic material, what happens next in the process of cell division? A. The cell wall begins to form, dividing the cell in half B. The chromosomes line up along the center of the cell C. The nuclear membrane breaks down, and spindle fibers form D. The DNA copies are moved to opposite ends of the cell.

its 1.The cell wall begins to form, dividing the cell in half. The bacteria’s’ circular DNA replicates, producing two copies. Each DNA strand then attaches to the cell membrane. The cell elongates, causing the replicated strands of DNA to separate. Cytokinetic division septum forms across the middle of the dividing cell producing roughly equal daughter cells that each contains a nuclear body.
