Which of the following correctly uses absolute value to show the distance between −60 and 13? |−60 − 13| = |−73| = 73 units |−60 − 13| = |−73| = −73 units |−60 + 13| = |−47| = 47 units |−60 + 13| = |−47| = −47 units @mathstudent55 @IMStuck @StudyGurl14
The distance between two number is the subtraction of the numbers in any order, inside absolute value signs.
if you want you can just give me the answer. You dont need to explain it if you want :)
Distance between -5 and 8: |-5 - 8| |8 - (-5)| Both are correct.
ok
The purpose of OS is to get help and to learn, not to copy answers someone gives you.
The first one.
ok sorry, you can keep explaining :) no hard feelings?
The first two have |-60 - 13| which is exactly what I wrote above, the subtraction of the two numbers inside absolute value signs. The absolute value of a number is never negative, so the second choice can;t be right. Answer is A.
No hard feelings at all, don't worry. We're fine.
I'll give you a medal to show it :-)
thanks :) have a great day!
Thanks, you too. I really gtg.
