f(x) = 24/3x-2 Find f(-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 24/3x-2 or (24/3x) -2

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

f(-2) means to plug in -2 for x so 24/3(-2)-2 do you know how to simplify from there? *hint (pemdas)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the 24 over 3x-2 , and you have to plug it the -2 as F(-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont understand how to do the math after plugging in the numbers

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

24 / (3(-2) -2) 3*(-2) = -6 so you get 24 / (-6 - 2) -6 - 2 = ? then 24 / ^ = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh alright, i think i am beginning to understand it

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

if you've come up with an answer, I'll be more than happy to check it for you to make sure :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you :)
