Just a weird question. Did Cowboys during the Wild West time period look like what we think are cowboys? (Like a cowboy hat, boots, denim jeans, long sleeved shirts, etc)
I did some research, but nothing really clears up on what they wear. Some articles say they wore hats, not just cowboy hats, but any hats, and longed sleeved shirts plus pants to protect them from the sun. They also said they wore boots to protect their feet and walk through mud
But some articles say that they wore stuff like what we think of a cowboy
exactly like*
I would say that pretty much so. But it is more like a picture from a tragic movie, rather than a Halloween customs.
See I read an article saying they wore cowboy-like hats, and almost homeless-like clothes.
Everything says something different, but I am not sure. I look at pictures also, but they are a mixture of all, and some of them are modern pictures
Hats weren't necessary of cowboy type, but they were primarily of that type. And they cloths did look poor as you say....
I would disagree about the jeans though
Any cotton pants (that are wide, not slim, to comfortably ride a horse)
I disagree with that aswell.
The jeans
yeah, and the long sleeved shirts are also right.
I thought so
This is just my opinion. The exact appearance can be debatable. In Taxes, long sleeves would be good though, to prevent overexposure to the sun. (I think)
I know they men wore hats and all.
and the hat for overexposure (to the sun) prevention
they did but today we modernize remember they were not very rich back then so they wore what they had and could afford
The woman wore dresses and hats, that is what I see in most pictures from that time period
Some woman
sometimes they only dressed like the men if they had the same skills
i just took a test on cowboys
Yes I saw a few women dressing like men as well
Aaah I am doing a research project on the Wild West time period, and the project asked about how they dressed and all
cowboy nowadays would be either a very very poor, or a very very rich person. Depends on a location.
I can imagine someone that has this type of entertainment
I in fact used to ride a horse.
See, in some pictures from the wild west period, some looked richer than others
you want to remember they dressed that way because of were they lived
yah thats true
lol that funny cause my grandparents are from texas @SolomonZelman
I don't know if these are real photos or not but see http://www.antiquephotoparlour.com/images/cowboy.jpg http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/236x/5d/bb/59/5dbb59626b2e69ffe7835e343ce93769.jpg
I used to ride a horse in Russia. (I came from Russia about 6 years ago or so) In Atlanta, Georgia it is too expensive.
^^ I think they are
yah those look real
I thought so, see the first pic, the guy looks a bit poor compared to the second photo
the ppl on the pic, don't lok like cowboys. They are some "neighborhood people", don't go out on a horse so often.
not realy cause they could have had a job were they were sharefs thats what my grandpa says
think about it if you worked for the president you would dress nice
@MAli13chineta that's true
I don't know. I am just confused on this question :P It was asking how people dressed in the Wild West time period. I explained different women dressed, and some parts of the men. It is when it came to the cowboys
but it really depends on were you got your info, i would do more reserch
"Million ways to die in the west" would be good just to get a better understanding of what cowboys and other people looks like at the times of the Wild West. Btw, I liked that movie when watched it.
Maybe that is not the precise name, but you know what I mean
I like the name c:
So for the cowboys, I am just going to put that they wore really any hats, longed sleeved shirts, loose cotton pants (for being comfortable when riding horses), but the shoes?
Trust me my explanation is longer and better on my project, Dx
I see also that they wore bandanas around their neck too
hmm I guess it's all about how good you describe it
yes, some thing that would function like a scarf, a bandanas. Something to block a wind (or wind with sand, like in Texas and other similar to it deserts)
Okie dokie, thanks all!
You got the info, just need to impress your teacher with good structure of the description, good sentences and vocabulary.
Yeppers :P
Oh also I am sick, and have very chapped lips o-o And I have no chapstick (Whyyyyyy), but anyways is there anything that can help with my chapped lips? It is bothering me really badly
