Does Openstudy provide any provision of deleting one's own account?
nope
Then it must provide, this is my suggestion. :P
yea they should
btw i fanned u
Fanned me? For what? Anyway OS is enough for informing that. :)
i fanned yhu because yhu are nice and yhu tink of great ideas to help OS
Nah mate you can't delete any account. The max you can do is permanently suspend it. You have to ask a moderator to do it.
I want to delete my Sent Messages. Asking for this feature for so long! xx
Deleting account will mess with other people's medal count. That's why there is no such option.
people could then come along, cheat, delete all the evidence, and get away clean? so no, there will not be a delete account option
@sleepyhead314 evidences like??
the evidence of cheating, we already have enough of a cheating problem here on Openstudy, and allowing people to delete accounts would just make it worse
I am saying to delete the account, not to delete their names from medal tally of others.
I am not getting you actually. Cheating?
deleting account = deleting previous asked questions = deleting any posts that showed them cheating
Wow, I said by deleting that, the user cannot log in to his account, but to not delete the information he has made here on OS.
That would simply be suspending account. Deleting account means deleting every information related to the account that includes comments, posts, medal, messages etc.
So, I can suspend account Okay?
So, I should find a moderator now. :P
You can ask a mod to do that for you. Yep
If you're too distracted by OS, some suggestions. Change password without looking, ask a mod for suspension, or get blocksite :)
I think you took it very seriously @iambatman . :P
I'm never serious, after all I'm a dude in a bat costume ;)
If that is the case, then you would not have been here to justify that. :P
The Smart Score system is interlinked, so if you delete an account it would change the smart scores of other people. That is one reason why they do not allow deletions. Though it would be nice if they allowed closing an account.
I agree. :)
