OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):

if you were to solve the inequality 2/7x < 5 , you would multiply both sides by 7/2? True or false

OpenStudy (chosenmatt):

false

OpenStudy (igreen):

This is a trick question. You actually would divide 2/7 to both sides. But dividing by a fraction is the same thing as multiplying by its reciprocal. So you can multiply 7/2. The answer is True.

OpenStudy (igreen):

@chosenmatt Don't give out direct answers.

OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):

@chosenmatt why do you say false?

OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):

I want both opinions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree with @iGreen

OpenStudy (igreen):

He fell for the trick :P @Cicilybailey14

OpenStudy (chosenmatt):

one sec

OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):

@iGreen lol I would of too

OpenStudy (chosenmatt):

oh i misread the question sorry...

OpenStudy (mvpriest):

False since its multiplication just do the opposite

OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):

I thought it was true?

OpenStudy (igreen):

It is true.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its true i had this exact question i put true it was right

OpenStudy (igreen):

@Mvpriest is wrong..

OpenStudy (igreen):

Dividing 2/7 is the same as multiplying 7/2. Look: 5 / 2/7 = 17.5 5 * 7/2 = 17.5

OpenStudy (mvpriest):

well, sorry thats how I learned but actually yea it is true I made a mistake sorry

OpenStudy (mvpriest):

I t is true

OpenStudy (igreen):

It's okay.

OpenStudy (mvpriest):

these were always a bit hard for me
