The 2 distinct points (x,-6) and (8,y) represent a function. What are all possible values of x and y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

•The values of x and y can be any real number •The value of x can be any real number, and the value of y can be any real number except for -6 •The value of x can be any real number except for 8, and the value of y can be any real number. •The value pf x can be any real number except for 8, and the real value of y can be any real number except for -6.

I will go with last option because if value of x will be 8 or value of y will be -6 then the points will be same.
